We are excited to welcome our new KTP Associate, Dr Mwrwan Abubakar, who has hit the ground running on the KTP project in collaboration with Edinburgh Napier University and Acubed.IT!

Dr Abubaker is a distinguished research professional with a PhD and two MSc degrees, bringing a robust foundation in cybersecurity and cryptography. His research expertise spans diverse fields, including blockchain and distributed ledger technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), IoT, and data cloud systems. With an impressive academic and professional background, Mwrwan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will undoubtedly contribute to our ongoing success and innovation.

Over the past six years, he has led numerous successful research initiatives, building an outstanding track record of publishing in esteemed peer-reviewed journals and presenting at globally renowned conferences such as IEEE, ACM, and Springer. Additionally, Mwrwan has made significant contributions to the academic community, serving on review committees for various journals and conferences.

Before joining us, Mwrwan served as a Research Associate at the Blockpass Identity Lab (BIL) at Edinburgh Napier University, where he played a pivotal role in leading several cutting-edge research projects in cybersecurity. His work included inititatives funded by EU Horizon, UKRI under the KTP funding scheme and Scottish Enterprise and Innovation vouchers. Beyond research, Mwrwan has over 12 years of teaching computer sciences and cybersecurity at higher education institutions, as well as years of hands-on experience as a senior network engineer.
