JUNE 2024: Strengthening UK-US Tech Ties: Acubed.IT's Experience in techUK's Washington D.C. Delegation

We are proud to announce that our CEO and Founder, Amit Gupta, was one of eight members of techUK's delegation to Washington D.C., representing Acubed.IT. This visit marked a significant step in building stronger UK-US ties in technology and trade. Over three days, the delegation engaged with U.S. government departments, Congress staffers, industry representatives, and trade organisations. Below is an overview of Amit’s experience and the key discussions that took place.

Day 1: Engagements at the British Embassy and Beyond

The first day included visits to the British Embassy, the Atlantic Council, and the U.S. Trade Representative's office. Conversations focused on economic and national security. Amit highlighted Acubed.IT’s contributions to UK government projects, with recognition of our applications by several attendees. A notable discussion covered the National Security Investment Act, emphasising the balance between protecting national interests and ensuring business transparency. Amit also shared how Acubed.IT’s ROSA application facilitates secure global communication, and further discussions explored how our Cross Domain Hybrid Application Framework (CDHA) could enhance secure collaboration.

Day 2: Delving into Digital Technologies and International Collaboration

Day two included meetings with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Department of State, where talks centred on emerging digital technologies within the the framework of AUKUS—a trilateral security pact among Australia, the UK, and the USA. A key roundtable discussion with the Information Technology Industry Association and U.S. businesses focused on how UK SMEs, like Acubed.IT, can partner with large U.S. tech firms to drive innovation. The conversation also covered AI and Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC), emphasising the growing threat posed by PQC and the need for continued innovation in cybersecurity. The day concluded with a networking event and follow-up discussions on the CDHA solution.

Day 3: High-Level Policy Discussions and Future Prospects

The final day of the delegation included visits to the United States Senate, the Russell Senate Office, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Amit reflected on the productive discussions around AI and trade policies, which highlighted the need for continued UK-US collaboration in addressing global tech challenges.

Conclusion

Amit Gupta’s trip to Washington D.C. with techUK shows Acubed.IT’s dedication to pushing forward technology and trade between the UK and U.S. The meetings helped strengthen connections and opened up new chances for collaboration and innovation. We’re excited to keep contributing to secure, innovative solutions that support both national and international efforts.
